About

Chris Bradley  Chris Bradley

I am a full time woodworker and part time knife maker. For 16 years I made my home along the banks of the Elk River just outside the resort town of Steamboat Springs, Colorado. Although I now make my home in Cheney, WA, the mountains and rivers of northwest Colorado are a constant inspiration to me. I get back to them as often as I can.

After a 20 year career as a Manufacturing Engineer, specializing in automating the cabinet industry with Cad-Cam technology, I decided to go low tech and run my own woodworking which I still operate full time. I am currently in the process of going from part time knife maker to full time.

As someone constantly learning new skills, I began making knives in 2018. The craft of knife making and blade smithing are a very different set of skills than woodworking, but I love it! Attention to detail, hand-eye coordination and design skills are a definite overlap. When you purchase one of my knives, you can be assured that hundreds of hours went into learning proper techniques on reliable equipment in order to properly execute the blade in your hand. I do almost all the work myself including heat treating in an Evenheat kiln to assure consistent results and fine grain structure. I do my own leather sheaths as well.
